The House that Wasn't

Last week we found out about a 'clearance' deal of sorts from a local builder, so we decided to investigate our options. Found a great house and put an offer on it yesterday. It was a very low offer, just a place to start from. But the counter offer was such that didn't give us much hope. And because of the circumstances of this sale, we knew they weren't going to budge much from their offer. And it just wasn't good enough. So, now we're back to our original plan, which is to buy a house through the rural development program, which is affordable because they subsidize your interest to correlate with your income. Hopefully by the end of the year we'll have another post that says 'WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!' Until then, nope.
